The VES, or Voltumnan Expeditionary Service, is an organization founded in 278 AT. Not exactly Militia and not 100 percent civilian, the VES focuses on exploring and mapping every square inch of Voltumnus's surface. Its members usually are self-sufficient, rugged individuals with a lot of survival skills, a love for the outdoors and an unquenchable zeal for the unknown. No one fits this description better than their current head, Zebulon Muir-Petakova, one of the few people to cross the Ruvian Jungle.

VES has a major headquarters in Charon for land-based exploration and a smaller one in Fort Solomon for sea-based exploration. It has little presence in Titania except for a skeleton lobbyist staff that focuses on securing its funding, largely received from House Petakova.
