The Titania Militia is the fighting force of Titania. Consisting of both police and conventional military forces, it is an extremely powerful organization.

All soldiers enter the Militia and go through six months of training aimed toward making them capable combatants in an infantry situation, granting them the Army qualification. Following this basic training, a soldier can opt to remain solely qualified for infantry or take other specialized training to broaden the range of roles they can fill.

Most engagements call for a mix of personnel, and individuals with additional specialties can choose to act in any of their capacities. I.e., someone who had both Army and Navy training could serve at the wall in Charon, or be called to man a ship. A Police/Pathfinder soldier might be out in the frontier one day and hunting criminals in Titania itself the next.

Ranks

There are three classes of rank in the Army: Soldier, the basic rank; Field Officer, for individuals whose duties mostly consist of giving commands on the field; and Tactical Officer, for those who largely give tactical commands/deal with paperwork and bureaucracy during peacetime. However, it is not uncommon for higher-ranking officials to fight themselves due to the climate of the Militia.

Soldier - Where many career Militiamen spend their entire lives. Soldier is the basic rank for anyone who doesn't demonstrate above-average skills in leadership.

Field Officer Ranks:

Patrol Leader - Patrol Leaders basically have the same duties as soldiers; however, they are occasionally forced to give orders to their men, and bear responsibility if all higher officers are absent.

Corporal - Corporals are the go-to lower officers for their superiors; they're expected to know the strengths and weaknesses of their men, though they still won't often be called to command.

Master Corporal - Master Corporal is the lowest rank that regularly ends up in active command of a situation, their units sometimes being dispatched on separate missions within the company.

Sergeant - Sergeants frequently command missions within the company, as their smaller troops are more mobile than the full company.

Master Sergeant - This is the company's leader and head, and as such is the effective boss most of the time on the ground when not splitting the company up under the Sergeants' command. To reach this rank, a long service record of leadership is usually required.

Tactical Officer Ranks:

Major - It's a Major's duty to pass down the overall strategic orders from his superiors into a form that makes sense for the particular make-up and location assignment of his units. Majors do the bulk of the supply work for their companies, as well.

Colonel - Colonels are typically assigned to implement the strategic orders of the higher ranks within a certain territory or subdivision of the Militia itself. Colonels handle the generla oversight of the Phalanx, Pathfinders and Police.

Major General - Major Generals control the overall defenseive strategy for large territories. There are two Major General for Charons, one for Fort Solomon, and one for Titania.

General/Admiral - A General heads the Army at large, a second General heads the Air Force, and an Admiral heads the Navy at large.

Field Marshal- The head of the entire Militia, the Field Marshal is the supreme commander in times of war. S/He also sets the general outline of the whole colony's defense policy, working with his/her subordinates to iron out the mainy details.
