Player Housing

In Stocklin, Petakova and the Titania Grand Arcology for those who have the money, players can buy their own residences. In Stocklin, for commoners, these are mostly apartments while in Petakova these are small cottages (2-5 rooms). Nobility have access to manors and spire homes, a type of tower (5-12 rooms).

  • A new home (one room, includes a lock, must provide description) - 25 XP
  • Each new room - 10 XP
  • Lockable door (You must own the room it leads to) - 5 XP

Homes can be expanded over time.

Event Cards

Cost: 120 XP
An Event Card is essentially a ticket for a one-shot scene designed specifically for your character. The point of an event card is to cause an action--usually formulated based on a character's biography--that will cause enough continuing momentum to spark future RP, as well as a few hours of entertainment during the scene itself.

  • To be eligible for an Event Card, you must have filled out your +plot information.
  • You only need one Event Card at a time.
  • An Event Card can be used no more than once a month.
  • You won't know beforehand what event the Event Card will trigger. You can't choose if it's "good" or "bad". You can, however, specify what you don't want anyone to mess with, for whatever reason.
  • You may make suggestions for Event Cards.
  • Event Cards only create a catalyst event--any follow-up activity is up to you to handle.

NPCs

You can buy NPCs with your XP! Hurrah!

Individuals

You can purchase individual NPCs, each with their own +sheet of no more than three skills. The point of buying NPCs? They're good for getting jobs done your character would need help with. Do NPCs always have to be bought? Absolutely not. The difference between an NPC who should be bought and an NPC you can play out of hand should look something like this: "Is this an NPC I want to use to help my character and to face opposed rolls?" If the answer to this question is yes, buy the NPC. If the answer is no, wing it, have fun, good luck. (Please note the italicized and in the question--"helping your character" should mean something like aiding them with breaking into a house, or assisting on a science project. If the NPC is helping you pick up the canned goods you dropped all over the Court of Water? Pssh. Does that require rolls? No. Don't buy it.)

An NPC may have no more than three skills, and the highest it can have is Good--and there can only be one Good. Just like a player may only have one Legendary, an NPC may only have one Good. The lowest skill you may purchase for an NPC is Mediocre (any skills at Poor or Terrible you may play out-of-hand).

Not all NPCs cost the same, so to figure out the cost of an NPC you'd like to build, do the following:

  • View the +sinfo of the skill you wish to purchase for your NPC.
  • Under "Level Costs", find the level you wish to purchase (it must be between Good and Mediocre).
  • Subtract one level (if you're looking at Mediocre, look at the cost for Poor, if Fair, then Mediocre, etc.)
  • Add up the level costs between Poor and the level you just found. That's the cost for your level.

When in doubt, ask an admin.

NPCs should stick pretty much to the task they were created for. In other words, don't buy an NPC to get the skill cheaper and drag it around all over the place with you. That's called "cheating". ;)
