A war hero of considerable repute, Nora Mallard was Field Marshal of the Titania Militia from 678 until 710, when she died in the Alert Massacre. Renowned for her brilliant tactics in the war of 690, she was well-loved by the people and the troops. It is now suspected that she was suffering from cognitive decline in the latter years of her life, and her reduced abilities to plan ahead may have been responsible for the utterly inadequate troop presence that turned the Alert Massacre from a beast attack into a true slaughter.
