Article: Amera Felix Petakova explained the last weekend's non-event of the Magic Fair with the following public statement:

"I am extremely grieved to announce that the Magic Fair was a failure due to disinterest on the part of our Celestian scientists. Insufficient registration beforehand meant that it would simply be unfeasible to hold the celebration as planned.

If any individuals still have a personal interest in the science of magic and its applications, my office will be accepting proposals. Novel and useful applications of magic may receive funding for further investigation, and innovators may receive official recognition from House Petakova."

"The failure of this initiative is a definite embarrassment to the Amera," said noted political analyst Favren Guggenheim. "He tried something new and bold, and now he's forced to admit to Titania at large that he can't drum up sufficient interest in magical science even with those sort of rewards on the line. Still, evidently he's not fully abandoning the effort regardless of his failure. It'll be interesting to see if his new appointment shares similar priorities."

Dr. Guggenheim speaks of the Hapta who will replace Ilena Petakova; no choice has yet been offered for the vacant position, and competition is remarkably fierce in this tumultuous political climate.
