Physical Description

The Lorachnia, to an untrained trained eye would look like it had the head of an ant-lion and the body of two tarantulas, glued back to back. It is generally described as "hairy" although the hairs appear to actually be geomanced spikes to allow this unique creature room for more expansion, serving both as a support system for an otherwise weak carapace and armor.

It has a total of sixteen legs and a full grown adult is the size of a medium large dog, roughly two feet high when crouched, but an amazing five feet high when all legs are fully extended. These usually operate in pairs, a male (smaller of the two, but stronger in geomancing) and female (Larger of the two, stronger and faster physically.)

Magical Properties

Due to their underground nature, Lorachnia are fairly strong Geomancers, capable of burrowing underground in a few seconds.

Habitat

Mostly unknown, the first example of these were found underneath the ruins of a mansion being salvaged. It is assumed these creatures prefer dry, dusty and dark areas.

Social Behavior

These creatures are rarely seen above ground, except when they are disturbed from their nests, or their spawn fly through the skies on long, thin threads of spider-silk. The male and female both catch their prey by incredibly sticky threads and geomancing to make the ground under their prey slippery.

By this technique, it is not uncommon for one to discover an entire neta in a single Lorachnia nest. Typically the male builds the nest with his strong threads and geomancing capabilities, and the female moves in if she is impressed with the stockpile of dead carrion the male has caught, as well as the size of his hole.

Once the female moves in and has mated, she seals the bottom of the nest with very fine threads and lays eggs in the soft, sticky webbing. The female then takes over the nest, while the male moves on to find another mate, or an abandoned hole to make home.

Danger Level

Medium

The young: Mediocre, when in a swarm just released from the egg sacs. These will typically attempt to burrow into whatever they land on, much to any creatures' dismay.

Adult male: Fair physical attacks, Good Dodging and Geomancy. Very high aggression buy physically weak.

Adult female: Good physical attacks, Fair Dodging and Geomancy. Very slow to angerand usually leaves you alone, but if you should disturb its nest, attempt to escape as soon as possible.

Note: When ensnared in webbing you need a flat rate of Good or above Brawn to break free.
