Kimran Tree

The kimran is one of Titania's biggest success stories; a local variety of tree tamed and modified to be edible in the earlier centuries of the colony.

Kimrans are evergreen trees that have a very unique property; they blossom in fall and bear glossy fruits in the winter. Thick skin and an unusual chemical composition keep these yellow-orange fruits from dying in the freezes, and so they're available to eat when few other fruits are.

The fruit itself is about the size of a clenched fist, roughly oval with one large seed as a pit. It tastes like a mixture of kiwi and cranberry, sweet and tart at the same time.
