Physical Description
Snake-like with an extremely limited skeletal system, judging by the feats of flexibility they have been known to manage, johaane are about half a foot long and very slender. They are commonly covered by illusory hazes and shadows, allowing them to blend in with their surroundings, but their natural skin is known to be pure white underneath this veil.
Magical Properties
Masters of illusion, johaane are almost never seen without their concealing veil of shadows. If they possess other magical powers, they are as of yet unknown.
Habitat
Due to sensitivity to bright light, johaane are almost always found in caves, under rocks and in other naturally dark environments. They can exist in direct sunlight, however, largely thanks to the protection of their veil.
Danger Level
Extremely high at close range. Johaane feed by entering orifices almost undetectably (usually with magical aid) or, in the case of a populous nest, cooperatively strangling their prey. However, they are weak to focused light or fire and will rarely chase prey out of their comfort zone, and so can be avoided.
