ICA = ICC Policy
From ElanVital
The ICA = ICC policy is, in many ways, similar to the IC/OOC Line. It is equally important. It means simply this: In Character Actions = In Character Consequences. Under this policy, actions committed by your character are treated according to thematic and sensible routes for the game world, and not as OOC issues.
For instance, say a character by the name of Johnathan assassinates the Amera. Say also that that Amera was extremely popular among both the playerbase and the staff, and that the player is really ticked off about it.
It doesn't matter.
Johnathan must worry about the law coming after him ICly. He should not catch flak from it OOCly from either staff or players. Johnathan's player would also be subject to no OOC punishments, such as XP penalties or removal of his property. It doesn't matter how disliked he is now--OOCly, he did nothing wrong. Therefore, the matter should be treated as an IC issue only, and the only ones coming after him should be characters in the gameworld.
It is, after all, illegal to assassinate an Amera. ;-)
