IC/OOC Line

The IC/OOC line is a vital principle of roleplaying anywhere--not only on Elan Vital. In short, it is the concept that what happens ICly stays IC, and what happens OOCly stays OOC. Simple enough, right? Tensions between players OOCly should not extend into their RP, and if one character hates another ICly, there is no reason the players can't be best buds OOCly. Catch my drift? ;-)

Now, not only is the IC/OOC line a basic rule of good roleplaying, it is also enforced on Elan Vital. It can also mean treating information you learned OOCly as strictly OOC information - unless your character discovers it ICly, they don't know it at all. Doesn't matter how vital it is to whatever plot, or whatever else is going on. And if staff catches you using information obtained OOCly ICly, you will hear about it. And it won't be pretty. So please don't go there.
