"When we landed on this planet, we claimed it in the name of the Terran Empire. The very streets we walk are named for our Empress. And that is not an empty tribute. We were charged to create a colony in the image of our home and by God, that's what we shall do. An orderly, civilized world, an enlightened world, built on tried and true principles of governance and human rights. A world of elegance, grandeur, and nobility. We must not backslide into a stinking fly-ridden hole in the mud - not as long as we bear the standard of the greatest civilization in history!"

-Amera Kamberlin Stocklin

One of the two major political factions in Titania, House Stocklin espouses a view of Titania informed by the indelible spectre of the Terran Empire.

Contents

Goal

House Stocklin wishes to re-locate the Terran Empire and pledge fealty to it anew. As such, they also wish to keep humanity's settlement on Voltumnus in line with the policies and beliefs of the Empire.

Values

Order, civilization, history, respect

Military

House Stocklin espouses heavy military spending, in order to be fully prepared should war with the Sessuyan break out again.

Technology

House Stocklin is strongly pro-mechanical technology, advocating for most of the government's funds and attentions to go toward perfecting humanity's already-strong capabilities rather than dabbling in the Sessuyan's mysterious biotechnology.

Crime

Believing that a civilized society is merciful, House Stocklin advocates shorter criminal sentences and an approach to law enforcement that favors targeting the root causes of crime (poverty, etc.) rather than punishing the offenders unduly.

Nobility

House Stocklin strongly advocates sticking to blood-based nobility as it is the way the Terran Empire did it. The current system of blood nobility combined with a meritocracy does not please many hardcore Stockliners, as they argue Titania lacked the legal right to amend how the Empire bestowed nobility.

Exploration/Settlements

House Stocklin believes exploration should be focused on the stars in order to find the Terran Empire. The general belief of the House is anti-settlement, as it sees the chaotic and less-refined cities outside of Titania as an embarrassment to the high culture all citizens of the Empire should represent.

Government

House Stocklin favors a strong centralized government, uniting all of the citizens in a push toward the stars. (Spaceships oft require high taxes to fund.)
