Gray Owl

The gray owl is descended from terran species, but at the same time entirely unique to Voltumnus. It is the result of genetic manipulation by a long-dead Stocklin scientist, transforming a species of hawk brought to Voltumnus into a likeness of the long-extinct owl.

Physical Description
A gray raptor, standing at about three feet tall with a five foot wingspan. it is lean, with two feather-tufts that take on the appearance of horns on its head. Its eyes are smaller than those of Terran owls, more suited to daytime flight, and its beak is short and curved.
Magical Properties
None observed.
Habitat
The gray owl is entirely domesticated. The largest population of around 400 lives in the aviaries at the base of the Aviary Tower. The rest often live as pets owned by nobility.
Danger Level
Low. About the worst that has ever happened is a negligent handler (or child) getting a painful bite.
