Skill Definition: Forensics is the ability to discover and analyze the minute details of a crime scene in order to establish evidence.

Common Uses: Forensic scientists often analyze such data as fingerprints, handwriting, and blood spatters. At low levels, this skill covers only the more obvious of clues, while more skilled scientists may use their knowledge to search for less text-book clues. Whereas anyone can learn the tricks of discovery, the analysis requires machinery that limits the real practice of forensics as a career to Stockliners.

Rule Information

Rule Notes: Forensics is rolled in the investigation of crime scenes to determine which traces of possible evidence the investigator may pick up. To use it in an analysis context, one must be in a laboratory room. Forensics does not include the knowledge necessary for performing an autopsy. For this, one must have the Surgery skill.
