Skill Definition: Computer Operation is the understanding of how a computer works, and the various skills and knowledge of how to use one, as well as keep it in working order.
Common Uses: Most individuals in Stocklin and the Arcology have a basic command of computers, certainly at least equal to the average youth of today's in real life. Computers are ubiquitous in Stocklin; televisions, phones and everything are hooked up to the internet rather than using multiple different sorts of data transfer. Petakovans will more or less have no knowledge of how to use them, however.

Rule Notes: What Computer Operation should reflect is not being able to do simple things such as click on an icon to run a program- those sort of tasks can be done without a roll. Individuals with Computer Operation can partition disks, dual boot, use command-based interfaces, troubleshoot, etc.
Common Modifiers: Computer Operation is typically rolled at 0, but should be freely modified for the difficulty of the task. Something as simple as executing a basic command-line query could be at +2; something as complex as directly editing the operating system's hidden configuration files could be at -2.
